Saturday - 10th - May - 2014: Zzz... (By Meliz Posta)

We all got a lie in this morning as we weren't scheduled to start work until 4pm. I'm the afternoon, we made our way to Piazza Farnese for the 20th anniversary festival of charity 'Emergency', a charity formed to support doctors and nurses working in war countries. Before we got to go backstage to hear about staging and stage set-up, we walked around the piazza listening to live music and watching street artists perform. 

Friday - 9th - May - 2014: Inspired! (By Meliz Posta)

Another early morning start as the whole group including Anna and Enzo made our way down to 'Scuola Provinciale D'arte Conematografia', a film school in which we got to see students of editing, visual effects and music (including more). We watched 2 short films including one called 'Tanabata.' Needless to say we all left the school feeling inspired and wanting to create!

                                

Funk Off!

funk off is a Jazz funk marching band. Five of us were given the opportunity to see them live in concert on friday 9th. The concert took place at the auditorium it was fantastic the band was full of energy and life. Every song was uptempo. Funk off use woodwind instruments including the saxophone, trumpet and a few more that I am unable to name. All of the musicians were jumping around dancing whilst playing, it was exhillarating and had everyone dancing towards the end of the night.l

Thursday - 8th - May - 2014: Group 2'a Turn at Cooking (By Meliz Posta)

Group 2's turn! At 10am today, it was Groups 2 turn to try their hand at cooking  some classic Italian dishes. Today's dishes included baked pasta with ham, meat and veg skewers with a classic tiramisu to end the meal.

After Paula awarded the whole class with certificates for passing her cooking course, we all went to to Matemú, a local youth centre where we met students interested in Media; whilst there, we watched the students rehearsal of the Shakespearean Classic 'The Tempest' in Italian. 

Our evening ended with a group trip to the Colosseum!  

Wednesday - 7th - May - 2014: And so it begins... (By Meliz Posta)

Today was an early start as we began our Italian adventure with a cooking lesson from a chef called Paula. 

The lesson started with the entire group walking down to the local fresh food market where Paula taught us about Italian fruit & veg, meat, cheeses and other foods. 

Group 1 were up to cook first and made us classic pasta with tomato sauce, salad and Canoli's 🍝

After lunch and after our first taste of Gelato with Anna and Enzo, we all went to the local park to discuss the rest of the weeks activities.
